Administration, personnel management and accounting, as well as approval processes, IT and central purchasing are bundled together as the Central Services business unit. The cross-site bundling of central services enables lean, efficient structures with short decision paths.
This business unit thus groups together important common tasks which are carried out centrally for the different business units of the Tönnies Group. These include, amongst other things, all organisational and administrative tasks, as well as compliance with permits, rights and obligations.
The department teams develop the strategies and procedures in the areas of activity that are critical for the success of the group and then implement them. In addition, the teams in the Central Services departments advise other departments at Tönnies and the management teams at the different sites.
Away from the workplace
We want our employees to be happy and motivated to work with us. For this reason, we strive to create a good working environment. We are aware that everyday life makes demands on our colleagues and we want to make it easy for them to balance their working life, family life and leisure time as much as possible. For this reason, we offer our employees a number of benefits which have a positive influence on their quality of life. These include our canteen in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, the Tönnies DRK childcare facility, company sports teams and football training, family parties, a range of social events and much more.
The Tönnies factory outlet is opposite the administration building and offers a varied range of self-service meat, meat from our service counter, and sausages, fruit, vegetables and convenience products at discounted prices. The factory outlet restaurant directly next door offers indoor seating and a large outdoor terrace for more than 200 guests. Tönnies employees, visitors to the company and local residents are very welcome here.
Tönnies DRK childcare facility
The Tönnies DRK childcare facility is also at the main site in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. Since October 2011, the children of employees from the group have been cared for in this public day care centre, which has an area of almost 100m2, together with other children from the greater area of the town of Rheda-Wiedenbrück. Since August 2017, the day care centre has been certified as an NRW family centre.
In 2012, the Tönnies Arena opened its doors on the main site in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. It is directly next to the administration building and can seat almost 4,000 guests in its stands. From local league games to regional league games to third division games, many regional clubs have already played on the heated artificial grass pitch, which is available year round. In addition, 16 company football teams currently train on the pitch of the Tönnies Arena and arrange friendly matches and tournaments against other company sports teams.
